This page answers most common questions asked by artists, visitors and buyers. If you have a question that is not answered on this page, please write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
How do I sign up?
Click SIGN UP on the top right hand side of your screen. Fill in your details in the form and click the Sign Up button.
What do I do if I do not receive a verification email after I sign up?
Check your Spam and Junk mailbox to make sure it did not get forwarded there.
Where can I access my account settings?
Log in to your account and click on SETTINGS, located in your profile navigation on the left hand column.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
If you forget your password or want to reset it, click on LOGIN at the top right hand side of the page. In the Login form, click on “Forgot your password” next to the login button.
I did not receive a forgot password email?
Please check your SPAM and Junk mail folders. To prevent future emails from going to your SPAM or Junk mail folders, add our email address (email@example.com) to your list of known senders.
How do I change my password?
To change your password, login to your account and click on SETTINGS, located in the profile navigation on the left hand column. Click on the change password check box and enter your new password. Click SAVE to save changes
How do I change my email address?
To change your email address, login to your account, click on SETTINGS located in the profile navigation on the left hand column. Enter your new email address and click SAVE.
How can I temporarily deactivate my account?
If you would like to temporarily remove your profile and artwork from Artorca.com, deactivate your account by logging in and clicking on SETTINGS > Deactivate Account.
How do I reactivate my account?
You can reactivate your account by logging in to your account and clicking on SETTINGS > Activate.
How do I permanently delete my account?
If you would like to delete your account, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with DELETE ACCOUNT in the subject line.
ARTISTS / SELLERS
Am I eligible to sell my work on Artorca.com?
Artists from anywhere in the world can exhibit their work on Artorca.com and use their profiles as a personal websites for their portfolios. In order to sell your work, you will need a PayPal or bank account to receive payments. You must also be able to check your email regularly, change the status of any work that becomes unavailable and be able to package and post sold artwork to your customers.
How many countries will I be able to sell to?
You will be able to sell to more than 190 countries worldwide
What type of work can I sell?
You can sell artwork of any type or size that can be safely packaged and shipped to your customer.
How do I edit my profile?
To edit sections in your profile such as ABOUT, RESUME, SALE POLICY, etc, click the edit button located at the top of your profile next to your name. You can now make any necessary changes to your profile. To confirm any changes click SAVE.
How do I upload/sell my work?
Click on “Add Artwork” located at the top of your portfolio below your name. You will need to enter your PayPal email address in SETTINGS > Payment before you can list any work for sale.
How should I price my artwork?
You are the best judge of pricing your work. We suggest that you price your work competitively so that it appeals as an attractive offer to a larger audience.
Do I need to include sales tax to the price of my artwork?
You should include any taxes that you are liable to pay to your government or local authority. We do not add any taxes on top of your listed price. For more details please read the User Agreement
Do I need to include shipping to the price of my artwork?
Shipping prices can be specified separately to all artworks. You can also include shipping to the price of your artwork and offer it for free to your customer, which makes it a more attractive offer
What do I do when my work sells?
When your work sells you will receive an email notifying you of the sale. Package and post the sold artwork safely to the address specified in the email
How much of each sale do I get?
Artorca charges 30% commission on the listed price of the sold artwork.
How and when will I receive my payment?
You will receive payment 7 business days from the date the buyer receives the order. Payment will be made into your Paypal or bank account
Is there a limit to how much I can sell?
There is no limit to the amount of artwork you can upload and sell
How do I edit my uploaded work?
Log in to your account and hover the mouse cursor over the thumbnail of the artwork that you would like to edit. Edit and delete buttons will appear on the top corners of the artwork thumbnail. Click on the edit button to begin editing the uploaded artwork.
How can I make an artwork unavailable for sale?
Log in to your account and click on the edit button on the artwork thumbnail. Go to the price and shipping section of the artwork and select “No” where it asks if the artwork is “For Sale”
How do I delete my uploaded work?
Log in to your account and hover the mouse cursor over the thumbnail of the artwork that you would like to delete. Edit and delete buttons will appear on the top corners of the thumbnail. Click on the delete button and select yes in the confirmation box.
How can I improve my visibility and exposure?
1. Upload high quality artwork in order to receive higher ratings by the art community. Higher ratings cause your art to show before others in the shop page when artworks are sorted by ratings.
2. Invite your friends to view your artwork and share it via social networks
3. Link to your social network or blog
4. Use your full real name
5. Title and describe your art using relevant keywords
VISITORS / BUYERS
Do I have to create an account to shop?
An account will need to be created in order to make a purchase and use our site features such as commenting and rating artwork.
What payment methods are accepted?
You will be able to pay using your PayPal account or all major credit and debit cards
What is a CVV code and where can I find it?
The CVV, or Card Verification Value, is a three-digit number printed in the signature space on the back of most credit cards. On American Express cards it is a four-digit code on the front of your card. The CVV is designed to reduce credit card fraud by ensuring that the customer has the credit card in their possession.
Why is my credit card getting declined?
Your credit card maybe getting declined for the following reasons:
1. You are not using an accepted credit or debit card.
2. You are entering an incorrect card number
3. You are entering an incorrect CVV number. This number is a three-digit number on the back of your card.
Can I place an order over the phone?
We do not take orders over the phone
How do I cancel my order?
If you would like to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible. The cancellation of an order will not be possible once its shipped.
What is the returns policy on my purchased artwork?
Artists on our platform offer a 7 day return policy on purchased artwork.
How do I block/unblock adult content?
You can select your adult content viewing preference by going to SETTINGS and checking/unchecking the “View Adult Content” option.
How can I search for work by a particular artist?
You can search for work by artists by entering their name into the keyword search tool in the Shop page or Artists page.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY
How much will I be charged for shipping?
Shipping charges for artworks are specified below the artwork image in the artwork detail page.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Our artists aim to deliver local orders within 7 business days and international orders within 14 business days (depending on customs)
Do you offer combined shipments?
We currently do not offer combined shipments. Each artwork purchased will have a separate shipping charge unless it comes with free shipping
Will I have to pay any customs, taxes or import duties if I purchase from an artist in another country?
You will be liable to pay any applicable customs, taxes and import duties on artworks purchased from an artist in another country to yours. Please contact your customs office to determine what these charges may be prior to making a purchase.
Can I have my order shipped to a P.O. Box?
You cannot have you order shipped to a P.O. Box
What If I do not receive my order?
Contact the seller immediately via the email address provided in your PayPal order confirmation
What if my purchased artwork does not arrive or if it arrives damaged?
Contact us immediately and report the loss/damage. We will work with you and the artist to resolve the issue as swiftly as possible.
What are the like and share buttons and what do they do?
Like and share buttons can be found on artist profiles and artwork detail pages. Clicking these buttons posts the associated content to your selected social network such as facebook.
How do I post a comment?
Click on the comment box located below the artwork image, enter your comment and click POST. You will need to be logged in to your account in order to post a comment. If you do not have an account, you can sign up for one by clicking the SIGN UP link.
